Dragon Dictation Support for Windows 10 with NaturallySpeaking 13

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a speech recognition and voice dictation software that works across various devices, enabling you to turn your speech into text. It’s a great tool for speeding up the typing process by simply speaking your thoughts.

With the release of the Windows 10 operating system, users who were already running Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 on Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 encountered several issues when transitioning to Windows 10.

To help you navigate the installation and usage of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 on Windows 10, we’ve prepared this guide.

Windows 10 offers two primary modes: desktop mode and tablet mode.

In desktop mode, Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13’s features and applications function as expected. However, in tablet mode, applications may appear in full screen, and you might notice some cosmetic differences in the DragonBar and certain UI elements like the Learning Center. These changes don’t affect the software’s functionality on Windows 10.

However, newer Microsoft applications, such as the Edge browser and universal apps, are not fully compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13.

Microsoft’s Edge browser, introduced with Windows 10, lacks APIs that would allow developers to integrate advanced features of Dragon Software. As a result, while basic dictation works, users cannot access full text controls or other advanced functionalities.

Fortunately, this issue doesn’t disrupt your work, as Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 continues to perform well on other browsers, such as Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Additionally, Windows 10 reintroduces the Start Menu, a feature absent from previous versions of the operating system. Unfortunately, voice commands are not yet compatible with this feature.

If you’re using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 on Windows 10 and are experiencing issues with the UI, login problems, or browser compatibility, don’t hesitate to contact Dragon Dictation Support for immediate assistance. Our support team is ready to help you resolve any challenges you may face.
